Our participation in the organization of the thematic conference on contemporary issues and obligations of title examiners given by the Chaire du Notariat of the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal, was an opportunity for LEROUX CÔTÉ BURROGANO to get involved in an enriching event for future examiners. Renowned educators were assembled to address different aspects of the subject. Mtre François Brochu, Notary and Professor at the Faculty of Law of Laval University, Mtre Pierre Duchaine, Notary and Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal and Mtre Pascal Fréchette, Lawyer and Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sherbrooke, each succeeded in generating interest from the audience. A panel of jurists composed of Mtre Sonia Rainville, Notary at McMillan LLP, Mtre Sophie Boulianne, Notary at Côté Taschereau Samson Demers and Mtre Nicolas Lanthier, Lawyer at Gascon and Associates, addressed practical issues related to title examinations. The moderator of the gathering, Mtre Jeffrey Talpis, Notary and Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montreal, ended the conference by bringing into focus certain title problems that could ensue from private international law, making that day a fine blend of meeting and information.
